Service Description

Please note: You will be required to provide proof of current rabies vaccination and current distemper and parvovirus vaccines PRIOR to the start of class. No exceptions! Calm and Confident is a 7-week class. The first session will be without dogs. Subsequent sessions are OUTDOORS. Two extra sessions have been included as rain dates. We will only meet for a total of 7 sessions (even though here it looks like 9 sessions). This class uses pattern games, movement puzzles, impulse control exercises, confidence-building activities, and counter conditioning and desensitization to help your anxious or overstimulated dog stay focused, feel empowered, and develop a sense of calm confidence around stressors and distractions. Our first session will be WITHOUT DOGS. This session will cover clicker training (clickers will be provided). Class will be limited to 6 dog participants. Barriers may be used as needed in class. Sessions will take place outdoors in a fenced yard. If the weather is uncooperative for many weeks, we may move online. Dogs will work ON LEASH at all times, and engagement between dogs will not be tolerated.
