Please note: You will be required to provide proof of current rabies vaccination and current distemper and parvovirus vaccines PRIOR to the start of class. No exceptions! Relief from Reactivity is an 8-week class that helps you develop handling skills and strategies to cope with your dog’s reactivity while also helping your dog feel more comfortable and less anxious so you can both enjoy your life together more. Between sessions (Thursday nights at 8pm), there will be an optional (but I encourage everyone to attend!) online "office hour" where you can bring questions and concerns, talk about what you've worked on since the previous session, and get clarification on anything that you and your dog need help with. Our first session will be WITHOUT DOGS. This session will cover clicker training and in-home reactivity management. A clicker and treat pouch will be provided to you, and this cost is included in the course registration fee. Class will be limited to 3 dog participants. Barriers and carefully controlled entry and exit will be employed to prevent reactivity at any point before, during, and after class. Requirements: You will need: 1. a flat buckle collar 2. a harness that your dog is comfortable wearing 3. TWO 4- to 6- foot leashes (NO RETRACTABLE leashes) If your dog needs to wear a muzzle or head harness in class, please contact me for help getting your dog comfortable with wearing either piece of equipment. Prong, choke, and electronic collars and retractible leashes are strictly prohibited.
